Artist Showcase
Tom Hart Dyke
Tom Hart Dyke’s profile has grown rapidly since his kidnap
story hit the headlines back in 2000. After his release from
the jungle Tom wrote a best selling book ‘The Cloud Garden’
with his fellow kidnap hostage Paul Winder. The boys toured
the country with the book , even appearing in Edinburgh at the
festival.
Tom
took a camera crew with him to the far east on a fruitless search
for an orchid to name in his granny’s honour. The programme saw Tom scalling horticultural
highs and lows as well as absailing down dangerous mountain
sides to glimpse his beloved orchids. Tom’s enthusiasm
and flair led Observer TV Critic Kathryn Flett to anoint him
with the title; ‘the new David Bellamy’.
More
recently Tom has been busy building ‘The World Garden
of Plants’ at Lullingstone Castle in Kent filmed for ‘Save
Lullingstone Castle’ BBC2. The 2nd series of the popular
show is to air towards the end of 2006.
