Ed Stafford: Amazon Man
Ed Stafford has experience of surviving adversity in some of the world's most remote jungle locations. Ed uses his experiences to inspire and motivate audiences to achieve their own personal goals and shows that is it possible to succeed even when faced with adversity.
On April 2nd 2008 Ed Stafford from Leicestershire began his quest to walk the entire length of the Amazon River from source to sea. No man has ever done what he is attempting to do. He aims to complete his quest in August 2010.
His adventure has been described as one of the most dangerous and difficult expeditions ever undertaken. The route is known for drug trafficking and illegal logging and white people are often feared and rarely seen in the area.
Ed has had to remain focused, strong and positive. He has had to use his natural cunning, sense of humour and his innate ability to understand how to communicate with all the people he’s met along the way in order to both survive and to continue on his walk.
Ed is currently three quarters of the way through the longest and most dangerous jungle expeditions ever undertaken – to walk the entire length of the Amazon River.
“My aim is to inspire others and to make people feel that they have a connection to the Amazon, its wonders and its problem. I also hope to motivate others to believe they can achieve their dreams, by telling my story of what it takes to strive to become the first man ever to walk the entire length of the Amazon River.”
How he presents
Ed’s laid back, humorous style educates and enthrals. His presentation will be a mix of narrative and pictorial anecdotes with high quality documentary footage filmed by Ed himself in the jungle. He will take the audience with him back to the jungle via his presentation and help to inspire them to see life ahead as an adventure ready to begin.
